The Legacy, Alchi welcomes you to the historic town of Alchi.

Situated approximately 2000 feet at lower altitude than Leh, Alchi is one of Ladakh's most picturesque villages, offering an ideal setting for unwinding and acclimatizing to the region's climate and altitude.

The Legacy, Alchi is situated right in the center of the valley surrounded by apricot trees garden, native "Lchangma" trees, and a breathtaking view of the Indus River and Alchi Dam.

Guests will experience the views of snow-capped mountains; stunning Sa-mar-kem-kem (Red colored Mountain) in the rear and Rocky Caves (the Dagi-Banga) trailing down beneath the powerful Indus River in the front. In the center of the Valley, the hotel is only a short stroll from the famous Alchi Monastery (a national Heritage).

About Us?

A home away from home , very neat and clean room . Great view , staffs were very helpful and provided everything they could. The owner was very caring and nice . Thank you for making our stay beautiful .

The owner is very nice, accommodating and friendly, the food is delicious, the rooms are spacious enough and very clean, the location is quiet and very pleasant and it has a lovely garden in which to have a drink and read. I recommend it completely.

A must-see, depicting the fusion of Buddhist and Hindu arts in wall paintings from the tenth century. Built by the great translator "Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo", it is said that every painter was imported from Kashmir, resulting in a blend of traditional Buddhist and Hindu artwork.

The monastery has beautiful murals on its walls inn the different temples in the complex. The other thing of real geographical and historical interest are the petroglyphs that are found along the road as you go to Alchi Monastery. I hope the ASI will do more to preserve these rock drawings as they are in danger of being obliterated
